Monella Persians is a CFA & FIFe registered Cattery of Excellence.

In June 26, 2009 we became members of CFA, the largest registry of pedigreed cats.

I am so proud to be tbe President of the Malta Cat Society and CFA Malta.

I have been breeding Persian Cats since 1989.

I bought my very first cats from Malta, however I decided that they were not up to the standard that I was used to abroad. I found excellent new homes for these cats and looked to the United Kingdom for my first pair of imported Persian Cats from Laodicea Persians.

At this point in time, I have five Stud Cats and twelve females all producing top show kittens.
All my cats are imported except for my blue Persian boy, Monella Geppetto and my dilute blue/tortie and white FIFe Champion & BIS Monella Milly Milly. My cream boy and girl, Levina Typhoon and FIFe Champion Levina Classicy who won five firsts in the National Cat Show held in Edinburgh, Scotland in November 1995 come from Levina Persians, the first name in cream Persians in the UK. My stunning blue-cream FIFe Ch. Kouta ultra Hello Dolly has featured in a number of adverts promoting popular cat foods in Malta. Dolly has also won Best Female in International FIFe Championship show held in November 2000.

I strongly believe in the purity of my cream, blue, blue-cream pedigree lines. My other boy is Sharamka Mascarade; his pedigree combines ANZ, Pajean, and Beauetchere. My dilute bi-colours come from Laodicea Persians and my dominant colours come from Harwood Persians of the USA.

The new additions from Harwood Persians of the USA FIFe International Champion Harwood Malta on her way to becoming an International Grand Champion who came in April 1999. A year later in April 2000, again from Harwood Persians came my beautiful Red/White harlequin boy FIFe Champion Harwood Georgian Beau. His offspring FIFe Champion Monella Rhett Butler Of Georgia (CACIB x 4) was one of his rivals. Harwood Quesadilla was next on the agenda.

From the U.K. and again from Sharamka Persians came my all-American boy FIFe Ch. Sharamka the Sixth Sense (O’Calico Sire and Dam), black/white Bicolour on his way to becoming an international champion.

This October, 2009, my newest addition arrived in Malta.  Black torties and blue torties are my favourite colours.

My black tortie from Mysteres Perians finally arrived in Malta.  She has fantastic bloodlines, a particular line which I had been after for quite some time. I cannot thank Diane Hunt enough for this doll, so very gorgeous. I never get tired of looking at her beautiful, expressive face.

A new addition will arrive later this year, maybe an early Christmas present!

I make it a point to import kittens to my breeding programme.  Older kittens come with a lot of baggage and I am not prepared to go that way.  A kitten easily adapts to the new environment and become part of the family.

All my cats are regularly tested and checked.

I try to visit two or three cat shows every year. Besides keeping up to date about what is happening in the cat world, I enjoy the lovely cats and meeting some of my friends in the world of cats. My two favourite shows are the Supreme held in Birmingham and the National Cat Show held at the Olympia, London.
